Peter Fitts, LCSW-C is a seasoned clinician with over 25 years of experience providing therapy for individuals, families, and couples. He operates from a strengths-based, culturally intelligent, and holistic perspective. He has an extensive history of working with emotionally challenged youth through the child welfare and juvenile justice systems. In addition to his role as a clinician he has managed therapeutic foster care services for youth within the state of Maryland for over 25 years, implementing best practice methods and evidence-based curriculum.

Mr. Fitts has served as the Director of various treatment programs within Progressive Life Center and for other organizations in the D.C. Metropolitan area.  He has served as Board Secretary for The Foster and Adoptive Parent Advocacy Center (FAPAC) in Washington, D.C.  and most recently served as The Maryland Regional Director for Foster Care and Independent Living services for Progressive Life Center. He maintains a Private Clinical Psychotherapy Practice in Silver Spring Maryland and serves as an Adjunct Faculty member at Howard University School of Social Work. 

Mr. Fitts earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Xavier University in New Orleans, LA and a M.S.W. in clinical social work from Howard University School of Social Work.  He is certified in Hypnotherapy, NTU African Centered Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
