Meet Our Professional Advisory Board Members

Dr. Bill Dodson

Dr. Bill Dodson is a board-certified adult psychiatrist who was among the first clinicians to specialize in adult ADHD 30 years ago. He was named a Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association in recognition of his contributions to ADHD and is a member of the CHADD Hall of Fame.

Dr. Dodson has authored more than 127 articles, 17 webinars, six peer-reviewed research articles, and five book chapters helping the public better understand ADHD and its treatment. His work has focused on advancing understanding of ADHD, including Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria (RSD), ADHD as a distinct nervous system, medication selection and optimization, and reducing treatment dropout.

He is currently completing a book on optimal ADHD treatment, expected in early 2027.

Dr. David Rabiner

Dr. David Rabiner is a child psychologist and Research Professor Emeritus at Duke University. He has spent his career studying ADHD and building practical tools to help parents, educators, and clinicians support kids with attention difficulties.

His research looks at evidence-based ADHD evaluation and treatment, ways to improve academic outcomes for kids with attention challenges, and helping community pediatricians use best practices with ADHD patients. He has published more than 50 peer-reviewed scientific papers and received funding from the National Institute of Mental Health, the Centers for Disease Control, and the U.S. Department of Education. He is a former member of the Professional Advisory Board of CHADD.

Since 1997, Dr. Rabiner has published Attention Research Update, a free monthly newsletter that sums up recent ADHD research for parents, educators, and health professionals. It now reaches over 20,000 subscribers. Dr. Rabiner also recently developed the ADHD School Monitoring Program, a free online tool that enables parents to get regular feedback from their child’s teacher on ADHD symptoms, behavior, and academic performance.  This helps parents learn when their child’s treatment is working well, and when they should discuss possible adjustments with their child’s clinician.
