ILAT stands for The Institute for Lifespan ADHD Training.
ILAT was created to address a significant gap in professional training. Despite ADHD being one of the most common and impactful neurodevelopmental conditions, many clinicians receive limited formal education in its assessment and treatment during their graduate training. ILAT provides the advanced, practical training needed to better support individuals with ADHD across the lifespan.
As understanding of ADHD continues to evolve, there is growing recognition that clinicians need more comprehensive training—particularly in the treatment of adolescents, adults, and older adults. ADHD affects nearly every aspect of life, and effective care requires more than understanding symptoms and diagnostic criteria.
ILAT was created with a different purpose.

While many ADHD organizations focus on education, advocacy, research, and resources, ILAT focuses on clinical training. Our emphasis is on helping professionals move from understanding ADHD to effectively treating it through practical, evidence-informed strategies that improve quality of life across the lifespan.
ILAT promotes an integrated approach that combines the depth and insight of psychotherapy with the practical, goal-oriented strategies often associated with ADHD coaching. The focus is on helping individuals improve daily functioning, emotional well-being, relationships, education, work, and quality of life.
ILAT is designed for psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, counselors, physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, ADHD coaches, educators, and other professionals who support individuals and families affected by ADHD.
