Dear colleagues and friends,
Many of you have been part of my ADHD journey for years, through my clinical work, writing, teaching, and advocacy. Over the decades, I’ve had the privilege of watching our understanding of ADHD evolve in remarkable ways. I’ve also seen how much work remains to be done.
One thing has become increasingly clear to me: there is still a gap between what we know about ADHD and how that knowledge is translated into practice.
We have learned so much about ADHD across the lifespan. We understand more than ever about the ways ADHD can present differently in girls and women, across developmental stages, and during major life transitions. We have a growing body of knowledge about assessment, treatment, coaching, education, workplace challenges, and the many factors that shape the lived experience of ADHD.
But knowledge alone isn’t enough.
We need to bridge the gap between knowledge about ADHD and knowing how to apply it— to help professionals translate what we know about ADHD into informed, compassionate, effective support for the people they serve.
That belief is at the heart of my newest endeavor: the Institute for Lifespan ADHD Training (ILAT).
I have wanted to create something like ILAT for a long time. A place where professionals from across the ADHD field can come together to deepen their knowledge, learn from one another, and explore how to put that knowledge into practice. A place where the focus is on people, not symptoms, and offers practical case-based training on ways to transform lives.
I am building ILAT as a professional learning community bringing together clinicians, coaches, educators, researchers, and other professionals who care deeply about improving ADHD care and support.
And there are several ways you can be part of this new community.
1. Join us for the ILAT Global Summit
October 29–30, 2026 | Virtual
I’m thrilled to bring together an extraordinary group of ADHD experts for our inaugural ILAT Global Lifespan ADHD Clinical Training Summit.
Over two days, we’ll explore ADHD across the lifespan — from girls and women and hormonal transitions, to adolescence and adulthood, workplace ADHD, underserved communities, neuroaffirming evaluation, ADHD in older adults, coaching, neurochemistry, and much more.
The Summit offers up to 12 APA continuing education credits and features leading voices from across the ADHD field.
Early-bird registration ends August 31.
Registration is currently $120 and increases to $185 on September 1.
If you’ve been thinking about joining us, now is the time to register and save $65.
If you can’t join us live, you won’t miss out – all sessions will be recorded and available to registrants on-demand for 30 days following the event.

2. Help us support students and trainees
Building a stronger future for ADHD care also means investing in the professionals who are just beginning their careers.
One of the things I feel most strongly about is creating opportunities for students and trainees to learn from leaders in the field and become part of the broader ADHD professional community.
That’s why we created a Student & Trainee Education Sponsorship Program, providing Summit registrations to students and trainees who might otherwise be unable to attend.
If you’d like to help make this possible, you can sponsor a student registration.
And if you are a student or trainee, applications for sponsored registrations are now open.
Every sponsored registration represents an opportunity for someone early in their career to learn from leading ADHD experts and become part of this growing professional community.
3. Join me for a FREE case conceptualization session
I also want to invite you to something a little different.
On August 28, I’ll be hosting a free live case conceptualization session, where we’ll take a closer look two submitted ADHD cases and explore the clinical thinking that goes into understanding and supporting the individual.
This is an opportunity to learn together, ask questions, and experience the kind of collaborative professional learning we hope ILAT will foster.
There is no cost to attend.
Thank you for being part of this journey
ILAT is something I have wanted to create for a long time, and it is incredibly meaningful to see it beginning to take shape.
Whether you join us for the Summit, sponsor a student, apply for a sponsored registration, attend one of our free learning opportunities, or simply follow along, thank you for being part of this community.
I hope you’ll join us as we build ILAT together.
Warmly,
Kathleen Nadeau, PhD, Founder, Institute for Lifespan ADHD Training (ILAT)
