B. Janet Hibbs, LMFT, Ph.D. is dually licensed as a Psychologist and a Family Therapist, and is an Approved Supervisor for the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists. She is a recognized authority on the treatment of couples and families, with a focus on the developmental transitions in parent-child relationships during adolescence through emerging adulthood.
In addition to her book co-authorships with Dr. Anthony L. Rostain in You’re Not Done Yet and The Stressed Years of Their Lives, she is author of Try to See It My Way: Being Fair in Love and Marriage. Dr. Hibbs has made frequent guest appearances on NPR/WHYY, including Fresh Air, Voices in the Family and Radio Times. Dr. Hibbs has 15 years of graduate teaching experience in developmental family psychology.
Her combined academic, clinical and commercial publications blend seamlessly in engaging public and professional talks. Her presentations provide effective strategies for coping with the many issues that parents, youth and young adults adults face. Thirty years ago, Dr. Hibbs co-founded Contextual Therapy Associates of Philadelphia, PA., where she maintains a private practice. She and her husband have two sons.
