Patricia Quinn, M.D.

Patricia Quinn, M.D. is a nationally recognized developmental pediatrician and pioneering authority on ADHD, particularly in girls and women. With more than 50 years of clinical and research experience, she has made transformative contributions to the fields of child development, psychopharmacology, learning disabilities, and ADHD across the lifespan.

 

An influential clinician, educator, researcher, and advocate, Dr. Quinn is an internationally sought-after speaker and has appeared on major media outlets including NPR, PBS, CNN, and Good Morning America, helping to advance public understanding of ADHD.

 

Dr. Quinn is widely known for her groundbreaking work on ADHD in females. Her books, including Understanding Girls with ADHD and Attention, Girls!, helped establish a new framework for recognizing and supporting girls and women with ADHD. Her latest book, Clinician’s Guide for Diagnosing and Treating ADHD in Women, was published by Routledge in June 2026.

 

She is also co-founder of the Center for Girls and Women with ADHD in Washington, DC, and recipient of the CHADD Hall of Fame Award for her outstanding contributions to the field. Through decades of clinical practice, research, writing, and advocacy, Dr. Quinn has profoundly shaped the understanding and treatment of ADHD worldwide.
