Penny Corkum, PhD

Dr. Corkum is a Distinguished Research Professor and Registered Psychologist in the Departments of Psychology and Neuroscience, and Psychiatry at Dalhousie University, and a member of the Scientific Staff at the IWK Health Centre.

 

Her research focuses on neurodevelopmental disorders, particularly ADHD, and pediatric sleep health. Over the past decade, she has led the development and evaluation of eHealth, eLearning, and mobile app–based interventions to improve children’s sleep and is Principal Investigator of the Better Nights, Better Days pan-Canadian research team.

 

Her work has been widely funded and has resulted in over 130 peer-reviewed publications, more than 260 academic presentations, and supervision of over 250 graduate students. Building on this work, she is soon launching the Better Nights, Better Days Not-for-Profit, advancing the national dissemination and implementation of evidence-based digital sleep health programs for children and families across Canada.
